Andrew Schreiner and Braxton Barnes combined for a two-hit shutout in Game 2 as North Jackson of Eagle Point completed a sweep of Ashland with a 6-0 victory in the nightcap of an Area 4 doubleheader in American Legion A baseball action Wednesday at North Mountain Park.
Schreiner held Ashland to two hits in 5 2/3 innings before giving way to Barnes, who shut down the Pilots the rest of the way.
North Jackson took advantage of a variety of Ashland miscues to take the opener 8-3.
The losses dropped the Pilots to 0-4 on the season. They play a doubleheader at Phoenix on Friday.
Schreiner struck out six and walked eight, while Barnes had one strikeout.
The Pilots started Dane Reynolds on the mound and he surrendered four runs, three earned, on six hits before being replaced in the seventh by Rowan Amann.

In the opener, North Jackson scored three runs on two singles, a hit batsman and a walk to seize an early 4-1 lead in the second inning. The visitors then scored two in the third and two more in the fourth to pull away.
