Southern Oregon University sophomores Zach Beltz and Victoria Mackey received the Cascade Collegiate Conference's weekly awards Monday, the league office announced.

Beltz, a product of Elmira High who won the CCC's long jump championship as a freshman last season, placed second of 23 jumpers Saturday at Chico State's Wildcat Invitational. He did it with a mark of 23 feet 2 inches in the Raiders' outdoor season debut, the third-best of his young career, and was voted the CCC field athlete of the week.

Mackey, a sophomore from Benicia, Calif., was voted the CCC pitcher of the week after pitching 5 1/3 innings of one-hit, scoreless relief over three appearances in SOU's four-game sweep of Great Falls (Mont.). She got the save Friday in Game 1, and in Game 3 Saturday she improved to 2-0 by tossing the final 1 2/3 innings – inducing an inning-ending double play with two on as soon as she entered in the sixth and allowing the Raiders to come back from a 2-0 deficit. She was perfect in 3 2/3 innings in Game 4, and on the season she's allowed just one hit and issued two walks in 9 2/3 frames.

The Raider track and field team will compete Saturday at Sacramento State's Hornet Invitational, and the softball team (18-4 overall, 5-1 CCC) will play Saturday and Sunday at Northwest (Wash.).
