Pink: At Home Too Long After COVID and Surgery

In spite of the fact that Pink loves taking breaks from performing so her voice can rest, she says it is terrible for her body.

Pink, singer of “What About Us” and “Who Knew” recently got candid about how she had gained some weight during the COVID pandemic, and was able to bounce back after she had surgery.

During her absence, she gained 36 pounds, Variety magazine reported. She stated she made a lot of sourdough, and then in turn ate it.

(3)Pink took to Instagram in April 2020, stating that her three-year-old son, Jameson, and her were displaying indications of COVID-19. Fortunately, her husband and daughter were able to keep healthy. Pink’s doctor tested her and it came back positive. In accordance with Pink’s family physician’s instructions, Pink’s family of four hunkered down at home for two weeks. A few days later they were all re-tested, which Pink said was thankfully negative.

The singer then stated “it’s an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible.” Many believed the illness wasn’t severe and was just a hoax at this time. Young and old, rich and poor, healthy and unhealthy, Pink wanted others to know that the illness affects everyone. In order to safeguard children, families, friends, and the community, she advocated for free testing that was more widely available.

Pink has also donated $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of her mother, Judy Moore, who was employed there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center. As a thank you to all of the healthcare professionals and everyone around the globe who had been working very hard to defend their loved ones, she donated $500,000 to the Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. Pink called these individuals our heroes and then urged everyone to stay home with a heart emoji.

After her run with COVID, she went on to have two surgeries- one for her hip and another for double disc replacement in the neck.

The “Love is Such a Crazy Thing” singer said (1)recovery for her hip surgery was brutal. It is not clear why Pink underwent this surgery.

Pink, 43, says that she is now stronger due to having both of the surgeries. She even refers to herself as being a “bionic woman”. She said that she is ready to get out of her house and go, and that she simply has been home too long.

This “Bionic Woman” has a lot on her plate. She juggles her music career with motherhood. Her children, Willow and Jameson, are two sacrifices that are worth it. (2)She says she loves being a mom. and she counts her blessings every day. She has stated that being a mom is one of the most incredible things she has ever done. And that she is shocked at how responsible she is now.

The “Cover Me in Sunshine” artist is not the only one responsible in the family. Pink says she is thankful for her husband, motocross celeb Corey Hart. She said he was there early on in the game, which was the hardest part of recovery. She stated she is never not completely grateful for having Hart help her. In spite of pain medications, depression, ulcers caused by pain medications, tears, and continuous fevers, her husband was there 100% of the time. She said that he recovers fast from surgeries, and compared him to not being real. Hart was sweet enough to bring her coffee while she was in the shower, wiped away tears, carried around her 100 pound CPM (continuous passive motion) machine wherever she was, and kept her meds in check. When she needed it, he retrieved her phone charger, plugged in her compression machines, made the bed, and took her temperature. Hart was also there for her when she needed him most, talking to her.

Experiencing all of this has made the “Just Give Me a Reason” singer proof that it is OK to ask for help when needed and to accept it as well.

Pink says that life will always provide you with chances to count your blessings. Pauses like this are made to recalibrate. In this setback, it provided the opportunity for Pink to ask and receive help. She feels blessed to be able to make a full recovery that will be quick and intentional.

In August, Hart had shoulder surgery to repair his rotator cuff just two months after undergoing a lower spine disc replacement.
