Elva Garrett Lund passed away March 6, 2018 at a foster home in Medford. She was a native Oregonian, born at the old Sacred Heart Hospital in Medford, along with a twin sister, Selda. Her dad and mother, Herb and Meryle Carlton owned a Hereford cattle ranch in the Prospect area. Elva, Selda, and Jack, their brother grew up there, where they worked on the ranch and attended Prospect School all 12 years. Then Elva and Selda spent one year attending a college at SOC in Ashland.
Elva and her husband, Claud Garrett raised their three children, Claud Lee, Rodney, and Carla in the Ashland area on Bellview Ave., moving from there up on the Siskiyous. They then moved to Oak Knoll Dr. in Ashland. Claud became sick and died July 8, 1987. After living alone for some time, she decided to sell and move to Trail on Ragsdale Rd. close to Jack. While there she met a school friend, Bob Lund at a school reunion and they soon got married.
Claud Lee, Elva's eldest son died an accidental death, February 27, 1993.
She moved her mother from Ashland up to Trail to live with them. Bob became ill and passed away, March 17, 1996. Elva again sold and moved to Medford to be closer to her daughter, Carla and closer to doctors and hospitals.
Elva leaves six grandchildren, Claud Elvin and Brian, who flew from Atlanta, Georgia to be close to their Nana when she was so sick; Tyler and Stacy from Klamath Falls; Nick from Rogue River; and Chris from Medford. They all made regular visits with their spouses to be with Nana. She also had 10 great-grandchildren. She also had many friends come see her. She will be greatly missed by all.
