September 30, 1946 - January 3, 2018

Virginia Mae (Howard) Jensen, 71, resident of Ashland, Oregon since 2009, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Ashland, Oregon after a battle with cancer. Known as Ginny to her family, she was born September 30, 1946 in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Ginny graduated from Classical High School in Providence, Rhode Island in 1964 and Albion College in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1968. She taught high school English for seven years in Wisconsin.

In October, 1973 in Easton, Connecticut she married Thomas P. Jensen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin The couple moved to the Silicon Valley where Ginny worked in the aerospace industry.

In 2009, they retired to Ashland, Ore. She was a member of Sole Sisters Hiking Club and Velo Biking Club. She loved nature, gardening, biking, hiking, skiing, ham radio, and flying as a private pilot. She was a tireless teacher and inspiration for her nieces and nephews.

Ginny is survived and sorely missed by her husband, Tom; mother, Dorothy Mae Howard; sisters, Donna Howard and Ann Thresher; her brother, William Howard; five nieces and nephews; six grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and many friends.
