A Mt. Ashland-sponsored food drive for ACCESS has been postponed to Sunday, April 22, due to wet weather that forced the temporary closure of the ski area.
Mt. Ashland Ski Area’s annual Ski & Snowboard Against Hunger assists ACCESS by providing ski passes to anyone who donates five or more non-perishable food items at the ski area. With rain in the forecast, ski area managers closed their operations for the weekend, but said they would plan to reopen Friday, April 13.
The event will now be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22. ACCESS distributes food to 24 emergency pantries in Jackson County that provide approximately 3,000 food boxes a month, which equals about five days’ worth of food per box. See accesshelps.org for more information or call 541-779-6691.
