Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Southern Oregon University has announced its Spring course lineup, along with a special one-term membership fee of $75.

This will provide full member benefits at an affordable price. Members can take as many classes as they want from among the 128 course offerings this spring, space permitting,  and attend classes in Ashland, Medford and other Rogue Valley venues. There is no per-course tuition.

Annual membership dues for 2017-18 were $125 per academic year. The dues cover roughly half of OLLI’s operating costs, and the Osher Foundation and fundraising efforts by local volunteers make up the rest.

Almost 1,900 adults are expected to take a wide variety of topics offered this spring — including in the arts, health, history, literature, personal exploration, recreation, science and technology. Each course consists of from two to 10 weekly class sessions. Courses start and stop throughout the term.

There are no tests to take, papers to write or academic prerequisites.

March 9 is the deadline for requesting courses before a computerized lottery that gives everyone an equal chance of being assigned to over-subscribed courses. On March 26, open enrollment is available and continues throughout the term. There is no age restriction on membership, although the program is geared towards those 50 and older.
