Construction workers installed a heavy timber frame Thursday at Southern Oregon University’s Thalden Pavilion at The Farm at SOU on Walker Street. The pavilion will be a cutting-edge education and performance facility. Ashland residents Barry and Kathryn Thalden are paying for design and construction of the new pavilion, which was designed by Chris Brown of the Ashland firm Arkitek: Design & Architecture. The Farm is a 3½-acre, student-led agricultural and learning center at SOU. Dedication of the pavilion is scheduled for April 20. Watch a YouTube video of the timber frame installation here.
