An afternoon of events under the umbrella “We Are One” is planned for Sunday, Feb. 11, at Southern Oregon University. Sponsored by the SOU UN Club, the events start at 1 p.m. in the Rogue River Room of Stevenson Union with a keynote address by university President Linda Schott and tabling by groups including including Peace House, the Ashland Culture of Peace Commission, Jewish Voice for Peace, Oregon Student Association, Jobs With Justice, Pachamama Alliance, SOU Cultural Resource Center and more. Music with five peace choirs from Portland, Eugene, Mendocino County and Ashland starts at 2 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall. A panel discussion on “How Immigration Affects Us All” starts at 5 p.m. in the Rogue River Room. Moderating the panel will be SOU English Professor Alma Rosa Alvarez. Panelists include Medford immigration attorney John Almaguer.
