Lecture: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art, in collaboration with the University’s Campus Theme, will host artist Maria de Los Angeles at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the Meese Auditorium in Southern Oregon University's Art Building, 555 Indiana St., Ashland. De Los Angeles' work "Transcending Myths" will be shown in the Schneider Museum’s Treehaven Gallery through March 17. As a Mexican-American artist and DACA recipient, her work centers on the subject of her own experience with the "illegality" of her identity, and the current conversation revolving around deportations and the right to belong.
