Opening day at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink drew a crowd, as young and old alike hit the ice on Saturday for the annual First Frost celebration.

The celebration included figure skating and ice hockey exhibitions — but mostly a lot of community members enjoying themselves as they (sometimes) gracefully glided around the rink.

The outdoor rink, a division of Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission, is at 95 Winburn Way. It will be open through Feb. 19.
