The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink opens for the season Saturday, Nov. 18, with the annual First Frost celebration from 2 to 10 p.m. at 95 Winburn Way.

The opening celebration includes an exhibition by the Southern Oregon Adult Hockey Association at 2 p.m.; family friendly discount skating from 4 to 6 p.m.; a figure skating performance from 6:30 to 7 p.m.; and recreational skating with a live DJ from 7 to 10 p.m.

Also featured will the rink mascot, Chilly the Snowman, and ice sculpting by Roger Butterfield.

The outdoor rink, a division of Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission, is at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way.

Skate rentals are available in sizes from toddler size 9 up to men’s size 15. Changing rooms are not available. Hot chocolate, coffee and a variety of snacks will be available for purchase. The rink offers skate trainers for select sessions at no charge.
