Hundreds turned out Saturday in Ashland's Lithia Park for the ninth annual Monster Dash Run for Education, a fundraising event for the Ashland Schools Foundation sponsored by the foundation, Yogurt Hut and the Ashland Kiwanis Club. The overall first-place finisher out of 284 entrants in the one-mile fun run was Brycen Pitchford of Gold Beach with a time of 5:31; the first female finisher was Kenna Jones of Ashland in 7:55. First overall in the 5K out of 242 entrants was Zachary Boyd-Helm of Medford in 17:17; the first female finisher was Mikaela Porter of Jacksonville in 23:56. First of 88 entrants in the 10K was Kyle Carson of Ashland in 38:19; the first female finisher was Heather Johnson of Medford in 39:22.
