Ashland Yoga Center will host a donation-based candlelit yoga practice in solidarity with the victims of the recent hurricane María in Puerto Rico. María was the third largest hurricane to ever hit the United States, creating a daunting humanitarian crisis that still affects 3.5 million Americans who live in the island.

All proceeds will be given to United for Puerto Rico for disaster relief.

Thousands of people lost their homes and a good part of the population is still without potable water or electricity, and in urgent need of the most basic supplies.

Certified yoga teacher Carolina Rivera will lead a heart-opening centered yoga class for all levels. The suggested donation is $20.

The class will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Ashland Yoga Center, 485 A St., Ashland.

Anyone who cannot attend but would like to support the effort can donate at http://unidosporpuertorico.com/en/.
