Fire hydrant flow tests will be conducted near 108 Clay St., 150 North Pioneer St., and 252 B St. starting at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Ashland Water Department has announced.

The flow tests, conducted in conjunction with Ashland Fire and Rescue, are used to gather needed information about the hydrants. Occasionally, after these types of tests water customers might experience a light discoloration in their water, according to the water department, which adds that the discoloration is harmless and will usually go away after running the faucet for a few minutes.

If it does not go away, or to get answers to any questions or concerns, contact the Ashland Water Department at 541-488-5353.
