Ashland At Home will host a live simulcast of Dr. Atul Gawande, author of "Being Mortal," speaking on "Being Mortal's Villages: The Value of Community and Choice as We Grow Older," at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Carpenter Hall, 15 S. Pioneer St., Ashland. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Dr. Gawande will speak from Boston at the 15th anniversary of Beacon Hill Village, the first of 200 villages organized by elders who were determined to stay om their homes as they aged. Ashland At Home is the nonprofit organization in the Village to Village network serving Ashland and Talent.
Dr. Gawande's talk will address aging, living with purpose and how to transform possibilities for people's later chapters in life.
