Lecture: Hannah Schrager, Stewardship Coordinator for the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, will discuss the endangered Western Lily beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in Room 161 in the Science Building on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The presentation will focus on conservation status and the restoration efforts for this native plant found only within a 4-mile band along the Oregon and California coastlines. Volunteers Needed: Ashland Parks and Recreation is looking for volunteers to help at the upcoming Bear Creek Salmon Festival on Saturday, Oct. 7. Benefit Dinner: Crater Renaissance Academy Drama and Dance will host a benefit dinner to raise money for Crater High School students to visit Edinburgh, Scotland.
