Rogue Valley Symphony
The symphony, conducted by Martin Majkut, celebrates its 50th anniversary with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gustav Mahler. American pianist Peter Serkin will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20, and RVS will perform Mahler's Symphony No. 5. Concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. Ninth St. Majkut will present pre-concert talks one hour before each performance. Tickets are $41 to $60 for the Ashland concert; $20 to $53 for the Medford concert; and $20 to $48 for the Grants Pass concert. Tickets are $15 for age 6 through 22 at all shows. The Two Tracks
Sheridan, Wyoming, band The Two Tracks — vocalist Julie Szewc, cellist and electric guitarist David Huebner, drummer Fernando Serna and bassist Russell Smith — will play its original, heartfelt bluegrass at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Brickroom Gathering House, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. The band is touring behind its newest, "Postcard Town," released in May. A self-titled debut was released last year. Online magazine The Alternate Root writes "rural wamth ... infusing their tunes with a feel for the open spaces of the West. Cover is $5.
Goo Goo Dolls
Founding members John Rzeznik and Robby Takac on guitar and bass, respectively, will perform Goo Goo Dolls' bevy of hit pop songs at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 S. First St., Jacksonville. Singer and songwriter Phillip Phillips Jr. will open the show. Reggie Garrett will perform at 6 p.m. in the Performance Garden. Tickets are $95 for standing room only, $85 for reserved seating, $52 for lawn seating, $42 for ages 12 and younger, and can be purchased at brittfest.org, at the box office, 216 W. Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra
Contemporary flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and his band will perform music from their 2016 album, "Slow," and earlier albums at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at The Rogue Theatre, 143 S.E. H St., Grants Pass. Liebert is a five-time Grammy nominee with multiple Gold and Platinum records. His music contrasts traditional and electric instruments. 'Disney's Beauty and the Beast'
Belle is lovely, but her bookishness and longing for a life beyond her provincial village set her apart from everyone.
