'The Drowsy Chaperone'

When a middle-aged, asocial, musical-theater fan plays a recording of his favorite musical, his small apartment turns into a stage and the fictitious show comes to life. Roger DeLaurier directs. The cast includes John Stadelman, Gretchen Rumbaugh, Galloway Stevens, Scott Ford, Suzanne Seiber and Lucas Blair. Evening performances are at 8 p.m., matinees at 1 p.m., through Sept. 3, at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. Tickets are $25 or $39. Delgani String Quartet

The quartet will perform works by Dvorak, Lou Harrison and a new piece by Benjamin Krause inspired by the Cascade Mountains, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Grizzly Peak Winery, 1600 E. Nevada St., Ashland. Krause’s work is part of Delgani’s “Cascade Quartet Project,” a video documentary made in collaboration with the Cascade Geographic Society. Darol Anger and Emy Phelps

Fiddler Darol Anger and singer and songwriter Emy Phelps, along with Seattle band Rain City Ramblers, will perform roots music and original songs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Grizzly Peak Winery, 1600 E. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Rocker Joan Jett and her band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 First St., Jacksonville. Rock band L.E.F.T. will open the show. The Sky System will perform at 6 p.m. in the Performance Garden.
