Several fires on Grizzly Peak ignited by lightning Thursday night are all under one acre in size as of this morning, according to Ashland Fire & Rescue. The fires are not threatening any structures near Grizzly Peak.

Oregon Department of Forestry firefighters hiked into the fires Thursday night and currently have one more small fire to staff with help from Cal Fire as mutual aid.

With the many fires that started last night across the region, resources are limited, the Ashland fire department said, and asked that residents do not call 911 if the fires should become more prominent through today.

Residents can also call the Ashland Smoke and Wildfire Hotline at 541-552-2490 to get updates as they become available.
