Lisa Spencer and Lisa Koch Reunion: Singers Lisa Spencer and Lisa Koch will reunite for a show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Spencer and Koch were a popular Ashland duo in the early '80s and performed their funny, feminist folk act around the Pacific Northwest. Look for an evening of silly ditties, gorgeous ballads and harmonies, and some adult humor. The duo's only recording, "A Fine Romance," long out of print, will be available as a remastered CD at the show. Amateur Radio Event: The public is invited to a free event to learn more about radio from 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, through the night to 11 a.m. Sunday, June 25, at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. People can visit a "Get on the Air Booth" and try out ham radio, which allows users to contact other ham radio users around the world without the use of phones or the Internet. The event is being held by the Cascade Amateur Radio Enthusiasts and the Rogue Valley Amateur Radio Club. All operators will rely on solar, wind power or generators, with no connection to the power grid. Jackson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services will also bring its emergency van to offer the public the chance to see a mobile base of operations that is used in the valley during emergency situations. Ashland Blues Summer Festival: Portland singer Rae Gordon and her Backseat Drivers, along with the Hank Shreve Band, will headline the Ashland Blues Festival on Sunday, June 25, at Grizzly Peak Winery, 1600 E. Nevada St., Ashland. The Matthew Kreimelman Trio with Jade Chavis Watt and blues duo David Pinsky and Phil Newton will open the show at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and can be purchased at ashlandblues.org or Paddington Station and Music Coop in Ashland, Hilltop Music in Phoenix, or Grocery Outlet in Medford. Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra: One of the nation’s premiere youth ensembles, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, in the Allen Elizabethan Theatre at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, 15 S. This group of award-winning string musicians, directed by Benjamin Simon, will perform Suites for Cello and String Orchestra by composer Lou Harrison and Camille Saint-Saens' "Allegro Appassionato." Four of PACO's senior violinists will join Siskiyou Violins, directed by Faina Podolnaya, for a performance of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in B minor. The concert concludes with Anton Webern's "Langsamer Satz" and Felix Mendelssohn's String Symphony No. 2 in D major. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Angus Bowmer Theatre.
