The Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship Project needs a few extra hands for work in the Ashland Watershed before the hot days of summer arrive. On Saturday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., project volunteers will rake duff (accumulated bark and debris) from the base of large old trees to protect them from damage by fire.

The work will occur off trail on steep hillsides so volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes. Cold water, snacks and a ride to the work site will be provided.
