A new "community market" premieres Saturday at Bellview Grange at 1050 Tolman Creek Road (just north of its intersection with Siskiyou Boulevard) in Ashland.
The indoor and outdoor market is set to run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Saturday of each month through November, plus a "holiday market" on the first Saturday of December.
This is a community service to attract people to the south end of Ashland and to provide a place for yard sales and an opportunity for the sale and purchase of a large array of merchandise at affordable prices, organizers say. Friends, neighbors and tourists alike are invited to attend.
There is adequate parking and a concession stand for refreshments will be available, along with room for 20-plus vendors outside and 15 or so inside the Grange's large front room. Also, inside the Grange, the back room will be filled with donated items for sale to benefit the Bellview Grange's frequent offerings of free educational and entertainment events.
Vendor spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis with set up at 7:30 a.m. Ten dollars pays for a 10- by 10-foot space outside, or a 6- by 6-foot space inside. The market opens to the public at 9 a.m.
