The Ashland High School robotics team won six of 11 matches and earned the Engineering Inspiration Award at last week's Pacific Northwest District Championship in Cheney, Washington, earning Team 3024 the program's first trip to the World Championship, coming up April 19-22 in Houston, Texas.

Also for Ashland, junior Claire Pryor, Team 3024's administrative captain, was named a finalist for the Dean's List award.

Claiming the Engineering Inspiration Award for community outreach earned Team 3024 a $5,000 prize to cover its registration fees for Worlds, but the team must still raise about $15,000 over the next five days to cover airfare and hotel expenses.
