The third annual city of Ashland Employee and Volunteer Cook Off was held Monday at Ashland Fire & Rescue Station No. 1 on Siskiyou Boulevard. The chili cook-off is a competition between city departments and an opportunity to build relationships and have fun. There were 13 entries from employees in different departments throughout the city. Three winners were name: first place, Antonio Rizo of the electric department, for his chili tacos topped with avocado; second, Jim Thomason of Ashland Fire & Rescue, for "Fully Involved Hatch Chili"; and, third, Josh Brown, water department, for "Water Dog Chili."
