'Pump Boys and Dinettes'
When four diligent workers at a North Carolina gas station meet with two good-natured waitresses, they pass the time by making music. Look for wistful ballads and toe-tapping tunes in this nostalgia-filled musical. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford. Sage the Gemini
Sage the Gemini will perform Friday, Jan. 20, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Doors open at 7 p.m. His hit single, "Gas Pedal," featuring Justin Bieber and Iamsu! was released in 2013. His debut studio album, "Remember Me," was released in 2014, and his second studio recording, "Bachelor Party," is set to be released this year on Atlantic Records. Brentano String Quartet
Chamber Music Concerts will present Brentano String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, and 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. The quartet’s Friday performance will feature music by Haydn, Kurtag and Beethoven. Saturday’s concert includes pieces by Mozart, Stephen Hartke and Dvorak. Robert Earl Keen
Texas singer, songwriter and guitarist Robert Earl Keen and his band will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Rogue Theatre, 143 S.E. H St., Grants Pass. Keen's newest, "Live Dinner Reunion," was released in 2016. Keen's live shows span folk, country, bluegrass and rock. Send David Pinsky to Memphis!
Longtime Rogue Valley bluesman David Pinsky will represent the Cascade Blues Association this year at the 33rd International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. A send-off for Pinsky will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at RoxyAnn Winery, 3285 Hillcrest Road, Medford. There will be performances by Pinsky, Phil Newton and others, along with raffles, drawings and giveaways. Admission is $5.
