In less than a day, a crowdfunding campaign surpassed its $25,000 goal for the husband of an Ashland woman killed Tuesday, allegedly at the hands of their 12-year-old son.

Nearly 230 people had donated $25,660 for Jim Holmes, husband of murder victim Pam Wolosz, according to a GoFundMe page as of Thursday evening. The campaign was organized by Holmes' friend David Giard, based in the Chicago area.

A message to Giard wasn't immediately returned.

Jim Holmes is the father of Ezekiel "Zeke" Holmes, 12, who faces murder, attempted murder and assault charges in Jackson County Juvenile Court for the Tuesday-morning attacks in which he allegedly killed his mother and injured his 16-year-old sister with a kitchen knife at their Ashland home.
