'The All Night Strut'

See Lucas Blair, Natasha Harris, Keenon Hooks and Anastasia Talley cut a rug in this musical celebration of '30s and '40s jazz, blues and bebop that weaves together songs by Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and Charlie Parker. Look for"Chattanooga Choo Choo," "Lullaby of Broadway," "It Doesn't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" and more, with music by a live band. Pearl Django

Violinist Michael Gray, Rick Leppanen on double bass, accordion player David Lange, and guitarists Jim Char and Tim Lerch are Pearl Django, a Seattle group well-versed in the Gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Pearl Django will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Old Siskiyou Barn in Ashland. The band is touring the West Coast to promote its newest album, "With Friends Like These," released in March. Ashland Airport Appreciation Day

Flight enthusiasts and the curious can sit inside airplanes, take rides in planes and helicopters and more from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Ashland Municipal Airport, 403 Dead Indian Memorial Road, Ashland. Activities include a smoke-jumper exhibit, skydivers, bounce houses for kids, a radio-controlled flying exhibition, flying drones, custom cars, up-close looks at airplanes, jets and helicopter rescue demonstrations. Food trucks will be at the site. Admission is free.

SOU Wind Ensemble

Southern Oregon University's Wind Ensemble, directed by Cynthia Hutton, will present music from Latin America at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Ashland campus. Look for Owen Reed's "La Fiesta Mexicana," Heitor Villa Lobos' "Bachianas Brasileiras No.2," "El Retiro" by Alfredo Mejia Vallejo and more. Sax player Zachary Yu Yang, winner of SOU's 2017 Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition, will perform Claude T. 'A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald'

Often referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz and Lady Ella, Ella Fitzgerald won 14 Grammy Awards during her career. She was named Best Female Singer by Downbeat magazine 21 times in 18 years. Ashland singer Sue Carney will perform Fitzgerald's music — backed by keyboard player Michael Vannice, bassist David Miller and percussionist Steve Sutfin — at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, June 9-10 and 16-17, and 2 p.m. Sundays, June 11 and 18, at Bellview Grange, 1050 Tolman Creek Road, Ashland.
