Harry, also known as Chris, passed away August 18, 2014, following a six-year struggle with Parkinson's. He was born April 14, 1928 in Butte, Mont. to Merle (Thurman) and Harry Christensen Sr. He attended both elementary and high schools in Lewistown, Mont. Upon his return from naval military service, he enrolled at what is now Eastern Montana
University in Billings, where he lettered in four sports and obtained his bachelor's degree in physical education. Later he obtained a master's degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Arizona. In 1951, he married the former Caryl Schrunk, who preceded him in death. In February 1980, he married the former Cam Turk.
Harry taught in secondary schools in Utah and California, while also coaching teams in basketball and football. He was a counselor at Medford Senior High School from 1971 to 1986. He was an avid golfer, having placed in many tournaments throughout his life, and was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Cam; daughter, Diane Sparks (Jess Matza); step-daughter, Alyssa Turk (Marc McGee); sister, Helen Sweeney; and two step-grandsons, Max and Quincy McGee.
