Dan Austin Andress, 65, passed away in Klamath Falls, Ore. August 6, 2014. Dan was born July 7, 1949 to Corrine Andress in Klamath Falls. Born and raised in Klamath Falls he joined the Army after high school. For many years he worked as manager for Specialized and Fleet Pride truck parts in Medford, Ore.; Sparks, Nev.; and Klamath Falls, Ore. He retired in 2010.
He enjoyed everything about cars. This passion translated into a membership in the Klamath Cruisers and a lifelong love of NASCAR. To pair with a love of cars he had an ear for the rhythms of the blues, as well as a passion for lighthouses and the ocean.
He is survived by his adoring family. Siblings, David Lee and wife Judy Morton and their children Jacob, Jesse, and Joel and Thomas Andress and his wife Janet. Daughter, Dana Massey and her children Chelsea and Cheyenne. Son, Dan Scott and his children Ian and Zachary. Stepchildren, Sabrina Rios and her children Devin, Jesse, and Kaysi, and Rick Van Griethuysen and wife Carrie and their children Cassie, Savannah, Mckenzie, and Parker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dan had many friends he considered to be his family. Dan was preceded in death by his mother Corrine Andress and siblings Nancy Beck and Norman Lee.
A service of tribute will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Klamath Tribute Center. A reception will follow with internment at Eternal Hills Mausoleum. Eternal Hills Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
