Welcome to the new Ashland Daily Tidings. We’ve gotten a makeover, changing from broadsheet to a more reader-friendly tabloid size, expanded to 24 pages and revamped the sections of the paper.
The changes are more than just cosmetic. The Tidings now has a larger staff, including a new editor, Bert Etling, and full-time city reporter, Ian Hand. Current sports reporter Joe Zavala will now also report on other topics in the community, including education.
The Tidings is also expanding the number of stories reported by freelancers to help cover more of the happenings in this vibrant, dynamic community.
We’re also reaching out to encourage contributions, including editorial viewpoints and columns, from local individuals and organizations to help spread the word about the work they’re doing to make Ashland a better place.
We made these changes to bring you, the reader, a broader, deeper daily report on the Ashland community. The changes are not only in print; we’ve also updated our website (www.dailytidings.com) and continue to offer digital portals formatted especially for tablets and smart phones.
We also have an active Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dailytidings) and Twitter feed (twitter.com/dailytidings).
All this is intended to help facilitate a community conversation as lively as Ashland.
We’d like to hear from you about how we’re doing and what more you’d like to see us do.
Please call Etling at 776-4465 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ll be continuing to improve, update and reinvent the Tidings. We look forward to continuing on that journey together with you.
