Ashland's 12 Firewise communities have had their nationally accredited status renewed, according to a news release from Ashland Fire & Rescue.

Ashland's 12 Firewise communities have had their nationally accredited status renewed, according to a news release from Ashland Fire & Rescue.

Each neighborhood was able to maintain a board, has a fire plan in place, observes guidelines such as maintaining defensible space around the home and contributes financially toward Firewise activities.

"Firewise not only makes neighborhoods safer, it brings people together under a common cause," said Firewise coordinator Ali True.
