August 17, 1946 ~ January 14, 2014
Gerald David "Jerry" Price, 67, passed away unexpectedly January 14, 2014 at his home in Ashland, Ore. Jerry was born August 17, 1946 to Edith and Lester Price in Ashland, Ore. Jerry was one of nine siblings, and was one of twin boys. He was preceded in death by his twin, Tom Price of Ashland, Ore; Connie Robertson, of Talent, Ore.; and Linda Smith of White City, Ore. He is survived by Dewayne Price of Ashland, Ore., Betty Martinez of Reno, Nev., Yvonne Baker of Sparks, Nev., Garland Meiser of Longview, Wash., and Stan Dillon of Salem, Ore.
Jerry was a graduate of Ashland Senior High, class of 1964.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Oregon and loved the great outdoors. His love of the outdoors was reflected in his career; he worked for McGrew Bros. Mill in Ashland, and was a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry.
Jerry loved Oregon and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to hunt for mushrooms and berries throughout the hillsides, and one of his greatest prides was his garden, from which he derived much enjoyment. He was a true Mountain Man by nature, more at home in the woods than any social environment.
All those who knew him, know he loved his Vodka. His belief was that it was always 5:00 p.m., somewhere, when he would pour himself a glass of his favorite beverage, but he was always willing to share. Because share he did. He was generous and kind, and was always willing to help others, and would never accept payment for his efforts.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and we all know that his thoughts would be:
Praise God for the opportunity to hunt,
praise God for the opportunity to fish, camp,
hike, stalk, cast, and enjoy God's great outdoors.
Now, the two twins are reunited. We will miss you Jerry, and you both remain in our hearts and thoughts forever!
