Mary Alice Adams passed away November 5, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. She was born Mary Alice Hennick April 23, 1931 to Joe and Alice Hennick in Crosby, Minn. She married Arthur (Wally) Berggren August 25, 1949. They owned a grocery store on the Cuyuna mining range in northern Minnesota.
She raised her family on the beautiful, blue sky lakes and so enjoyed listening to the call of the loons. She enjoyed all outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and was an excellent skater. Mary Alice was also an avid huntress and fisherwoman and harvested wild rice every year.
She moved to Ashland, Ore. where she obtained her nursing degree. She remarried Jack Adams and they were married for several years. Later she retired as a registered nurse in Medford, Ore. Mary was involved in many different organizations, from church groups to the Red Hat Society. She was a passionate seamstress and also loved music and playing cards. She was a phenomenal cook and loved to entertain.
Mary Alice is survived by two sons, Joseph and Kelan Berggren; daughter, Suzanne Rentz; and three grandchildren, Erin Berggren, Haley Rentz, and Charles Rentz.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Salvation Army Church at 304 Beatty St., Medford, Ore. Dinner at a local restaurant will follow after the memorial service to celebrate Mary Alice's life.
