Ashland Food Co-op employees will hold a vote on whether to unionize the store this month.

Votes will be tallied on Aug. 23 and 24, and the results will be available on the final day of the election, officials from the co-op and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union said this week.

An informal settlement was reached between the store's management staff and the union on March 29, after a four-month-long National Labor Relations Board investigation found merit in 13 of 16 allegations brought against the co-op in a unfair labor practices complaint.

The union filed a request to unionize the store in November with the NLRB, but the request had been on hold because of the unfair labor practice complaint and ensuing investigation.
