Theodore "Ted" Myrick, 81, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii passed away at the Kona Community Hospital July 29, 2012. He was born October 7, 1930, in Pendleton, Ore., to Amos and Elizabeth (Brewster) Myrick. Ted served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953.

He then attended Oregon State College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He received his master's degree while working with Allis Chalmers. Ted had a 31-year career with Pacific Power and retired in 1990. He moved from Casper, Wyo., to Hawaii 12 years ago, settling in Kailua Kona where he attended Mokuaikaua Church and enjoyed tinkering with electronics and spending time with friends and family.

Ted was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda (Marker) Myrick. He is survived by his wife, Janet Myrick, of Kailua Kona; son, Brent Myrick; grandchildren, Jennifer, Tanner, and Tyler, of Casper, Wyo.; daughter, Suzanne (Lane) Troxel; grandchildren, Colby, Morgan, Jessica, Angus, Wolfgang, and Mesa, of Ashland, Ore.; daughter, Renee (Edward) Morgan; grandchildren, Tabitha, Colton, Cheyanne, and Adam, of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Terri Jolly; grandchildren, Michael Jolly, of Woodland, Wash.; brother, Curtis (Dorothy) Myrick, of Portland, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2012, for a 10:00 a.m. memorial service at Mokuaikaua Church in Kailua Kona. Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory and Funeral Home of West Hawaii.
