A Hiroshima-Nagasaki vigil will take place from 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, through 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Ashland Plaza.

The featured performer at the annual event will be award-winning musician Masako Cross, who will sing at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Plaza. Other events at the Plaza will include a performance by the Rogue Valley Peace Choir and Peace Journey Travelers at 6:30 p.m. Monday, a Whistling Elk drum performance at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Also part of the week-long event, the film "The Strangest Dream" will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St.

The closing ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Japanese Garden at Lithia Park.
