Prominent Southern Oregon arts agencies received $55,000 in development grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust Board Tuesday.

Prominent Southern Oregon arts agencies received $55,000 in development grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust Board Tuesday.

The trust distributed $502,552 in total grants.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival received a majority of the funds — $35,000. Josephine Community Libraries Inc. received $10,000 while the Ross Ragland Theater in Klamath Falls and Jacksonville Heritage Society received $5,000 each.

The Trust also awarded $61,539 in cultural participation grants to tribal coalitions in Douglas, Jackson Josephine and Klamath counties, and the Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe of Indians.
