Juliet Strong's buttery, bluesy vocals have been likened to Norah Jones, Carole King and Carly Simon.

The vocalist and pianist will perform folksy music with world influences at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at The Playwright Public House, 258 A St., Ashland.

In 2011, she released her indie pop EP, "Barefoot," before moving across the country from Oakland, Calif., to Brooklyn, N.Y.

In 2005, Strong graduated from the University of Oregon with her bachelor's degree in vocal performance. Since then, she has performed on stages throughout Oregon and California and traveled extensively.
