DENVER, Colo. — The possibility exists that Jeremy Guthrie has thrown his last pitch for the Rockies.

Colorado is aggressively trying to trade the veteran right-hander and has talked with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to two major-league sources.

In that scenario, the Rockies would receive a minor-league prospect with Toronto absorbing the roughly $4.9 million on Guthrie's one-year, $8.2-million arbitration contract.

After Tuesday's 7-2 loss to Philadelphia, Rockies manager Jim Tracy said Guthrie, who graduated from Ashland High in 1997, will be moved to the bullpen and the team will go with an unconventional four-man rotation with each starter being limited to 75 pitches.
