Charles "Lee" Niedermeyer, 82, passed away in Salem, Ore., Saturday, June 9, 2012. Lee was born March 17, 1930, in Medford, Ore., to Ernest and Ora Niedermeyer.
Lee graduated from Medford High School in 1948. On August 25, 1952 he married Donna Lee Ross. They had two children and resided in Medford.
After 25 years of working as an Agent for State Farm Insurance, Lee retired in 1995. He also served on the board of the Bear Creek Valley Sanitary Authority and operated his orchard for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his friends and was very active in the Shriners.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Donna Lee; his brothers, Don, Walt, and Dale; and sister, Erma Maust.
Lee is survived by his son, Mark Niedermeyer; daughter, Cynthia (Steve) Harder; and grandchildren, Hilary Kelsay, Kerri Harder, and Dustin Harder.
Services will be held at St Mark's Episcopal Church, 426 W. 6th St., Medford, OR 97501, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, OR 97239.
