Both teams will play in Class 5A state play-in contests next.

The Eagles beat the Grizzlies in all three of their meetings this year.

Billy Hansen recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and James Skinner turned in 12 points and seven assists for the Grizz, who trailed by a point after the first quarter and by two points at halftime.

The Eagles owned a three-point edge entering the fourth, but created some separation late at the free-throw line.

Eric Snow scored seven points and Zack Reed, who had been out with an injury, added six points for Eagle Point (15-9, 3-0 SOH), which knocked down 15 of its 21 attempts at the charity stripe.

Ethan Schlecht added nine points and 10 rebounds and Jacob Finch chipped in nine points for Ashland (10-14, 0-3 SOH).

"We came out in the fourth and hit a 3 and 2 and it was game on," Ashland head coach Larry Kellems said. "It was back and forth until we had to come out and foul, and (Eagle Point) did a really good job of making their free throws."

Girls Basketball

At Ashland, Allison Shulenberger dominated inside and out with 14 points, 19 rebounds and six blocks to help Ashland cap its regular season with a 35-24 win over Eagle Point, Tuesday at Mountain Avenue Gym.

Shulenberger hit 6 of 14 shots, including 1-for-1 from 3-point land, and pulled down 12 boards on the offensive end alone. Sarah Kasiah added 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals, and freshman Georgia Williams scored six points for the Grizzlies (14-10), who swept the three-game season series from their SOH 5A rivals.

Eagle Point (3-19) was led by Sydney May, who scored 10 points.
