Donovan Thomas Wolfe, of Medford, Ore., passed away December 30, 2011. He was born March 16, 1929, in South Bend, Ind., to Mable and Royal Wolfe. The family moved to Oregon in 1944 and settled in Phoenix.
Donovan enrolled at Phoenix High School, where he excelled in all sports, including football, basketball, baseball and track. He also engaged in boxing and was undefeated when his career ended with his marriage to Dorothy Glover on June 25, 1950. She was a persuasive person!
Donovan and Peggy raised three boys, Michael, Patrick and Scott. Donovan worked in the wood products industry to support his family. Along with his day job, he owned and worked a small peach orchard that was later converted to pears. He also built a cabin at Hyatt Lake, which has provided the family with a lifetime of great memories.
Donovan enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He had taken numerous trips to Alaska to visit family and is known locally as The Fish Magnet. His prowess with a dipnet on the Kenai River is legendary.
Donovan was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. All who knew and were touched by him will feel the loss.
