Florence A. Robinson, 94, of Ashland, Ore., passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
She was born on May 24, 1917, in Norden, Neb., to John and Ethel Nissen. On April 11, 1942, she married Eddie E. Robinson, also of Norden, Neb. They had been married 68 years at the time of Eddie's death in 2010.
Florence taught school in Nebraska before moving to Ashland, Ore., in 1962. She continued teaching third grade at Lincoln Elementary until her retirement in 1979.
After her retirement, Florence and Eddie enjoyed many
winters with family and friends in Tecopa, Calif. Her
passions included preparing Sunday dinners for her family and friends, Bible studies, playing cards with friends, quilting and doing crafts.
Florence never met a stranger, she took many under her wing, and she was always a gracious hostess.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Francis (Lyal Field), of Medford, Ore.; two sons, Eldon (Marilynn), and Skip (Janice) Robinson, both of Ashland, Ore.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Violet, Freda, Audrey and Alta Jean. She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Johnny; and sister, Dorothy.
A graveside service was held on Monday, October 24, 2011, at Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland, Ore.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at The Shepherd's Way, 559 East Main Street, Ashland, Ore. A reception will follow the memorial service, next door in the annex.
