This group loves the '80s. Alternative pop-rock-punk trio, The Stamps will perform many rocking '80s covers and original songs at 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Paddy Brannan's Irish Pub, 23 S. Second St., Ashland. The Stamps are Robbie Lindauer on lead guitar and vocals, Joey Capezza on bass and Mark Arinsberg on cajon and hi-hat. The trio's sound ranges from edgy, hard rock to punk rockabilly. Admission is free.
LEGENDS OF THE CELTIC HARP
Harpists Patrick Ball, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter will present the music, myths and history of Celtic harps at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Unitarian Center, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. KIERAN B. DEVINE
Hear the melodic stylings of songwriter and guitarist Kieran B. Devine at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Downtowne Coffee House, 200 Talent Ave., Talent. Devine will perform songs from his newly mastered CD, "Chasing the Grey." Many of the songs on Devine's new album are inspired by a trip to Bali, where Devine learned from locals to avoid extremes and to find balance in all things. Admission is free.
New York-based folk rocker Charley Orlando will perform what he calls "Organica Groove" at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. After 13 albums, more than 3,000 shows, 200 original songs, and 22 years in the music industry, Orlando brings his harmonically rich sound with synth undertones, acoustic guitars and lush vocals to Ashland audiences. Karen Lovely will follow Orlando's performance. Cover is $5.
FUNDRAISER FOR THAILAND
Get an earful of jazz while supporting a good cause. Local musician Tom Stamper leads a fundraiser for flood victims in Thailand starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at House of Thai Cuisine, 1667 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The Modern Prometheus Jazz Company will play until 5 p.m., followed by The Siskiyou Jazz Project at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10 and gets you a Thai-food buffet, all the free music and the feeling of well-being that comes from donating to a worthy cause. All cooks, service people and musicians are donating their time.
