In May 2010, several motley musicians were enjoying margaritas and Mexican food when they made the unanimous decision to quit their day jobs and devote themselves full time to their music. The product of this collective decision was 100 Watt Mind.

In the past two years, 100 Watt Mind has played more than 200 shows featuring their signature, psychedelic rock sound, described by vocalist Brynna Dean as "a jungle-rock beat with a heavy blues and punk influence."

The band is Dean, bassist Cole Stitleman, drummer Rob Morris and guitarists Skylar Squglio and Nate Hurlocker, along with a rotating cast of drummers.

The group will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. Portland-based alt-rock band Aan will open the show. See www.facebook.com/100wattmind or call 541-482-8818.
