Lucielle V. Jackson, of Roseburg, Ore., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on September 14, 2011, at the age of 91. Lucielle was born on September 18, 1919, in Stockton, Calif., to Roy and Vera Hartwell. She moved to Oregon with her family and went to Pinehurst School at Lincoln on the Green Springs. Her family moved into Ashland, where she graduated from Ashland High School. While at Ashland High School, she met Virgil Jackson whom she later married. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1987.

During World War II they moved to Vancouver, Wash., where Virgil worked in the Shipyards. After the war, they moved back to Ashland and became active members at the Church of the Nazarene. Lucielle was known for her great gift of hospitality and was a long time greeter at the church. Virgil and Lucielle were involved in many business ventures in the Rogue Valley from restaurants to advertising.

Lucielle is survived by her three sons, David (Bonnie), of Brookings, Ore.; Mel (Jo), of Seattle, Wash.; and Bob (Teresa), of Roseburg, Ore.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her three brothers, Kenneth (Maxine), of Phoenix, Ore.; Clarence (Edna), of Medford, Ore.; Clinton (Lenore), of Calif.; and one grandchild.

A potluck celebration of her life will be held at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Ashland on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a scholarship fund in her memory.
