Daniel Park's parents saw to it that their children received the music education they never had. Starting at age 6, Park was enrolled in private violin lessons for 12 years. At age 15, he received his first acoustic guitar from his mother.
Born in South Korea, Park was adopted and raised in Albuquerque, N.M. Before emerging as a solo artist, he performed violin and backing vocals with two prominent regional bands: Live Bait, a cover band, and Kiss to Betray, a metal-core band.
In recent months, Park has pursued the path of an indie singer and songwriter, performing solo in Texas, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado and Oregon.
He will play acoustic violin and guitar at 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Caldera Tap House, 31 Water St., Ashland.
Park released his second recording — an EP, titled "Search and Rescue" — in January in Las Cruces, N.M. The pop-rock, guitar-driven album features several of that area's finest musicians.
