Mamie D. Moore, 95, matriarch of the W.L. Moore family, passed away April 26, 2011, in Medford, Ore., with family by her side. She was born July 6, 1915, in Drakes Creek, Ark., to John and Mary Duncan. She married Wilkie L. Moore on August 28, 1932, in Tahlequah, Okla.

Wilkie and Mamie lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Washington, before making the Rogue Valley their permanent home more than 55 years ago. They were devout Christians and lived their faith every single day of their lives. They enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and picking blackberries and huckleberries. But most of all, they loved having their family near them and spending time with them.

Mamie is survived by son, Noel (Lovella), of Central Point, Ore.; daughters, Elaine DeCarlow, Linda Greer, and Karen (Ed) Arnold, all of Medford, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilkie; son, Ellis; daughter, Lana June Zeleznik; two grandchildren; and her two brothers.

A private memorial service will be held Monday, May 2, 2011, at Perl Funeral Home. She will be buried next to the love of her life, Wilkie, at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
