Dona Edmonds, 88, of Medford, Ore., passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, at her home at Avamere-Waterford. She was born in Pheasant Creek, Ore., to Louis and Etha Kramer. She was a lifelong resident of Oregon, living and raising her family in Medford since 1950. She worked for the federal government for many years before opening Rogue Trailer Sales in the early 1960s with her husband, Jack Edmonds.

Dona loved to garden and play the organ, as well as travel. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling through reading books. She also enjoyed her friends at Avamere and their spirited conversations. The family would like to thank the staff at Avamere for their wonderful care and companionship, keeping her days full of smiles. During her recent illness, Dona and her family also were grateful for her wonderful caregivers from Signature Home Health.

Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1999; her granddaughter, Nicki Brewold, in 1993; and her infant great-grandson, Adrien Encinas, in 2008.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Brewold-Johnson and Leigh Johnson, of Medford, Ore., and Barbara and H. Steven Encinas, of Sonora, Calif.; grandsons and their wives, Dave and Melanie Encinas, of Coursegold, Calif., Steve and Vicki Encinas, of Petaluma, Calif., and Mark and Marion Encinas of Nice, France, and their children; three great-grandsons in California; and one great-grandson in France.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Domestic Violence Foundation in honor of her granddaughter, Nicki Brewold. Donations may be sent to 3820 Hillcrest Road, Medford, OR 97504. A private family burial service will be held on Friday, April 22, at Siskiyou Memorial Park, with

arrangements by Perl Funeral Home.
